Shopping the Town...

Not that I am a big shopper, but I was ( last minute ) looking for candles to finish up a clients home project and wandered into a World Market about an hour from my home. In two words- unique & affordable...

I was very impressed at their keeping up with the latest
“ Vintage” style trends. IN fact,  I was so inspired, that I whipped out my phone and began snapping away to show YOU.

Beautiful accessories in several categories - here’s just a little sample of  one of their smaller industrial items -

A darling "mini"
french drying rack.
Great for coffee
cups in a smaller
kitchen.
How cute is that ?
And, very affordable !

How about for your
daughter's first Apt ?

                  Such cute soaps and hand
              lotions !  Great gift ideas.

 And see below- a beautiful
 selection of colorful towels
that I don't think you will see
over & over again... Know what
I mean ?

Bright & Colorful-  and such
Unique color combinations. Not the normal towels we usually see everywhere...

 Citron, teal & navy blue.

Very stylish and very well priced baskets ( linen look )
 for any STORAGE issue-
here are a couple below that were especially wonderful...

Seriously cute baskets to hold almost anything !!

And of course it got me thinking about homemade and those unusual Christmas gifts..
( I know it’s early ) When you are a busy Mom and Nana like myself, well it just
pays to think ahead and scheme :)  - even if it’s just a little.

Now a Nana to 5 kiddies, so I am putting on my thinking cap !

Paint your own Tea set- Simply Darling !

Maybe you need to just head over and see all the
goodies for yourself !

Till next week when we REVEAL the new family room we just completed-  Several shades of  Charcoal, creams & kelly green )

To Market we went

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy went to... Ahem ! Excuse me . . . Sorry, I got slightly carried away by all the wonderful new things we saw.
I did make it to market in Dallas this week and my favorite assistant Aubrie tried her best to keep me in control, but you know how it is when a girl sees all the new goodies- well , like Christmas morning for a four year old. Anyway, since a small vacation called me away early, we had to miss the opening day of temporaries ( bummer ) but managed
to snap a few of the best views for you. And more on our little sneak away later...

Because we only had one day to scope out the goods for you- We hit a few highlights- some of the showrooms that we knew had the most creative and colorful displays.

One of the showrooms owned by J. Mackie, Ltd. never fails to disappoint , the owner is always ready to help you find what you are looking for. And his displays really draw you in.
Pottery so pretty you want to rearrange an entire room around it,  Seriously !

Beautiful potttery....several colors to be found.

One of the most popular and trending colors right now in the design industry- Purple ! Several shades here to enjoy. From a deep purple to purple infused with  a little cherry , it’s a hot color.  And note the citron accessories and chair that really make the purple a star here. Nice compliment.. It definitely has the shock value. ( 2nd photo )

If purple is not your color... try this on for a hot new shade.
With the new trend in neutrals moving away from beige and creams, and heading in the direction of grey, this lovely shade of tangerine is a natural to really make the room pop. Quite possibly
THE color of the year. ( Global Views)

Not your average display. Very appealing. Love the softness of the flowers added in to such strong architectural interest.  Yummy!   ( Global Views front window )

Enough for now. . we will do a second part with more photos later in the week. Let us know which colors are calling you this year.
Try and pick
your top two and let us know. We know it’s going to be difficult, but we know
you can do it.

Till next time-
