Twas the night before Cookie Bake

'
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

( we have barn cats...)

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Maybe at our annual family cookie bake ?

The utensils were nestled all snug in their bed.. Umm... I mean drawer.

While visions of sugar plums.. & COOKIES danced in our head. . . the pretty ones.

Like these below.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.

Oh, wait. . . It was the whiz of the mixer, sprinkles  and icing being dropped on the floor, chatter, laughter and a good time being had by all !
Or maybe, it was Santa . . .

"Now Dasher! Now Dancer!
Now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid!
On, Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch!
To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!"

We spoke not a word, but went straight to our work, and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

Really, we just ate some of the

   cookies. . Yum  )

We tried to save some  for neighbors, workers & friends. And of course- one or two for Old St.Nick  -  maybe the Reindeer ?

But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

We hope you take some time to enjoy the season
and make some beautiful memories with family
and friends.

Till next time-

Diana & Aubrie
